California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC)
Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) are tax credits for working people who have earned a low to moderate income. You may be eligible to receive a cash refund or reduce the amount of tax you owe. Foster Youth Tax Credit (FYTC)
You may qualify for a new Foster Youth Tax Credit (FYTC) of up to $1,189 if
- You were in the California foster care system on or after your 13th birthday AND
- you are between the ages of 18 and 25 at the end of the tax year
- you claim the CalEITC
- and were placed through the California foster care system.
